Compare Turkish cities for your hair transplant

Where you fly changes the price band, the number of clinics competing for your case and how far you travel after landing. Put two or three cities side by side and see the trade-off in numbers.

How to read the table

Clinic count shows competition and choice. Total reviews show how much of that supply is actually busy — a city with twenty clinics and few reviews between them is thinner than it looks. The package band is the 2026 all-inclusive range for that city's tier, not a single clinic's quote.

Once you have picked a city, open its guide for the licensed clinic list, district breakdown and the local cost page, then shortlist two or three names and compare them directly.

FAQ

Is Istanbul always the best city for a hair transplant?

Istanbul has the deepest clinic supply, the most experienced high-volume teams and the best flight connections, but also the highest prices and the widest quality spread. Ankara and Izmir offer strong medical infrastructure at lower package prices with fewer clinics to choose from.

Why are prices lower outside Istanbul?

Rent, staff costs and marketing spend are lower, and clinics outside the main tourist route compete on local patients. The surgical standard in a licensed facility does not automatically drop with the price — but the number of clinics doing thousands of cases a year does.

Does the city affect my recovery?

Indirectly. Flight length, transfer times and summer heat matter more than the city itself. Antalya and coastal cities are hotter in July and August, which makes the first ten days less comfortable.

City versus city: what the numbers mean

Reading a city-versus-city table without over-reading it

The comparison tool puts two provinces next to each other on the numbers we can document: how many clinics we list, the published package band in US dollars, and the technique coverage available locally. Those figures describe market depth and price level, and nothing more. A wider band in one city usually means it contains both budget operations and premium surgeon-led practices, not that it is more expensive across the board. A narrow band in a smaller province usually means a handful of clinics quoting similar prices to the same domestic patients.

When a cheaper city is genuinely the better choice

For a straightforward first transplant of two to three thousand grafts, a well-reviewed clinic in Ankara, Izmir, Bursa or Antalya often makes more sense than the same money spent in a tourist-district Istanbul clinic, because the price reflects lower overheads rather than a shorter operation. The trade-off is flight connections and, in smaller provinces, fewer clinics to fall back on if the first choice cannot fit your dates. Weigh the extra travel day against the saving honestly: for a difference under three hundred dollars it is rarely worth an extra domestic connection.

When the larger market is worth the premium

High graft counts, repairs of a previous transplant, scar work, beard-to-scalp harvesting, women's cases with diffuse thinning, and fully unshaven procedures all benefit from a city where dozens of teams perform them weekly. That concentration exists in Istanbul, and to a lesser degree in Ankara and Izmir. Paying twenty per cent more for a team that sees your specific problem every week is a better use of the budget than saving it on a clinic that will be learning on your donor area, which is the one resource you cannot replace.

The costs the comparison table cannot show you

Flights, the extra night if your session runs late, unpaid days away from work, and a second trip if you later decide on a top-up all sit outside the package band. Add them before you conclude that one city is cheaper. Equally, factor in follow-up: a clinic you can reach again on a short direct flight is meaningfully easier to hold accountable at month twelve than one that requires a full day of travel each way, and accountability at month twelve is when a transplant is actually judged.
